Terms of Service

Draft for review. Replace every bracketed placeholder and obtain appropriate legal review before enabling this document as the terms users accept.

1. About MetaAOE

MetaAOE is an independent fan project that provides Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition guides, news, and tools, including a deck builder. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or the game's developers.

The service is operated by Bartosz Urban, Wrocław, Poland. Contact: contact@metaaoe.com.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping access to your account secure, and using the service in accordance with applicable law.

Authentication and account management are provided by Clerk. You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting contact@metaaoe.com.

3. Decks and user content

You may create and save deck configurations. You are responsible for the content you submit and for choosing whether a deck is private or public. Public decks may be visible to other visitors.

Do not submit unlawful or offensive content, infringe another person's rights, attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service, or use the service to harm others. We may remove content or restrict or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, or third parties.

4. Intellectual property

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition and its related names, artwork, and game content belong to their respective owners. MetaAOE is an unofficial fan project and does not claim ownership of those materials.

The original content of MetaAOE (such as guides, text, and site code, unless stated otherwise) belongs to its author. Please do not copy it in bulk without permission.

These terms do not transfer ownership of content you create or submit. By making a deck public, you grant MetaAOE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it publicly on the service as part of the deck-sharing feature. You can end this by making the deck private or deleting it.

5. Third-party services and availability

The service relies on third-party providers for authentication, hosting, analytics, and editorial content. Those providers may have their own terms and privacy notices. See our Privacy Policy for details on how personal data is handled.

The service is provided free of charge and on an "as available" basis. Features may change or be unavailable, and we may suspend or discontinue the service at any time. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from the unavailability of the service or the loss of saved decks. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.

6. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Effective date: [DATE]. If you continue to use the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. For material changes, we will post a notice on the site.

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
